Meet Brian – Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Brian Hiles, CST, is certified by the National Board of Surgical Technology and  Surgical  Assisting. He is a 2008 graduate of the James Rumsey Technical Institute  where he  completed his surgical training. During his years of training, he received  several awards  such as the Presidents List award, Un-Sung Hero award, and was  inducted into the  2008 National Honors Society of the National Surgical Technology  Association. Brian  started working in the OR at Winchester Medical Center in  summer 2008. He was part  of the Neurosurgery/Oral & Maxillofacial team. In the  fall of 2009, he joined the team of  Winchester Oral Surgery as Dr. Coviello’s  surgical assistant. Since then he has acquired  the highest skills in Oral and  Maxillofacial care. He is always looking for ways to  sharpen his skills and continue  his education to the fullest. Some of his recent   accomplishments  include the following: 

  • Biomet TMJ Replacement and Scope Workshop
  • Wound Closure Workshop
  • Certification in the Dental Anesthesia Assistant Program
  • Certification in CPR & AED Program

Meet Val – Dental Assistant

Valerie Sousa, a member of our surgical team, began working for Winchester Oral Surgery Center in June of 2013. Valerie is a very skilled and committed member of our surgical team. She actively tends to our patients’ individual concerns while upholding a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment. Valerie also prepares patients for their procedures and assists the doctors’ chair side. In her spare time, Valerie enjoys pursuing her passion for art and spending time with her favorite furry friend, Ollie.

Meet Leah – Dental Assistant

Leah Thompson Baker, a member of our surgical team, began working for Winchester Oral Surgery Center in August of 2014. She was born and raised in the Winchester area and has a passion for helping those in her community. Leah ensures that our patients feel at ease as they prepare for examination and treatment. She also assists with procedures and helps patients and their families throughout the recovery process. All of our assistants are well trained in the postoperative process, enabling them to give detailed postoperative instructions as well as detailed answers to any questions that may arise. Outside of work, Leah enjoys going on outdoor adventures with her husband and cuddling with her dog, Wagner!

Meet Stephanie  – Office Manager

Stephanie Sousa, our Office Manager, began working for Winchester Oral Surgery Center in February of 2012. Stephanie oversees the daily operations of the office, ensuring that our patients are well taken care of by our team. She attended James Madison University, where she graduated in May 2011 with a Bachelors of Business Administration. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration at Shenandoah University. Stephanie was raised here in Winchester and loves the area. In her free time, she enjoys travel, reading, and spending time with her family. 

Meet Jackie – Financial Manager

Jackie, our Financial Manager, joined our team in early 2011. She mainly focuses on accounts receivables, filing insurance claims, and obtaining reimbursements. Jackie has completed the AAOMS Coding Certificate Program. She holds a Bachelors degrees in History and Political Science, which she received from Shenandoah University. Jackie was born and raised here in Winchester, Va. In her free time she enjoys reading and spending time with her  husband and daughter.

Meet Danielle – Insurance Manager

Danielle Fitzgerald, our insurance specialist, began working for Winchester Oral Surgery Center in June of 2014. Danielle assists our patients with their insurance benefits. She works with our patients to ensure that they understand all of their benefits, and submits any necessary authorizations. She is an advocate for our patients, making sure that the insurance charges accurate. In her spare time, Danielle enjoys spending time with her family, her German Shepherd, Echo, and her cat, Charlie. She is an avid movie goer, enjoying horror films the most.
